Oklahoma’s Comprehensive Tort Reform Law Wins Gold, as New York's Trial Lawyer-Backed Expansion of Securities Liability Takes Dubious 'Silver'
The Big Apple's half-billion-dollar tort tax dwarfs that of other cities (Forbes / John P. Avlon, 07-14-09)

An independent study has just confirmed what we all already knew: New York’s legal system is one of the worst in the country.
The study, conducted by the Pacific Research Institute, found that the added cost of our system amounts to more than $800 for every New Yorker every year.
This lawyer tax is driving up prices, raising taxes and running businesses out of New York State.
And, instead of trying to fix the problem with a common sense approach to tort reform, the New York State legislature is considering making it worse by allowing lawyers to recover even more money. Who benefits? Not the injured. Not the taxpayers. Only the lawyers will.
Please click here to send a message to your elected officials and tell them that you want to fix New York’s legal system; not grow the lawyer tax.
