Mark C. Kriss, Esq.
Executive Director

Mr. Kriss has been appointed as Executive Director of NYTortReformNOW.org effective April 1, 2008 and is charged with leading the fight to secure reform of New York's regressive "tort tax." As Executive Director Mr. Kriss has been tasked with fashioning an aggressive campaign to educate New Yorkers and Public Policy Makers regarding the need for systemic reform of our tort system. Presently, New Yorkers pay well in excess of 800 hundred dollars per person per year for an inefficient and inequitable system where the median award is more than 600% greater than the national average.

Mr. Kriss is extremely well suited to the task. As a co-founder and executive committee member of NYTortReformNOW.org predecessor group - New Yorkers' for Civil Justice Reform he has been advocating for civil justice reform for more than a decade. He has served as a lobbyist in NYS for a variety of Businesses and Professions from 1979 to present. Mr. Kriss is a practicing attorney who is well versed in New York's laws and rules respecting civil lawsuits.
